Here in the U.K the weather is really starting to warm up and the glorious sunshine is pouring down onto the streets of Essex. Whenever the weather changes, I always notice my makeup routine has to adjust.
I have combination skin, in other words my skin in oily on my T-zone & then dry/normal on my cheeks. The oil increases during the spring/summer and the dryness increases during the autumn/winter months. The a dehydrated forehead all year round (random).
Finding a routine that really works well for me and embracing the dewyness during the summer is a must! I wanted to share with you My step by step look to a Perfect Summer Glow!
After applying your must-have moisturiser and waiting 5-10 minutes to let it settle (Usually I pick my outfit for the day whilst its selling in). Now it’s time to prime baby! Apply a coin sized amount onto finger tips and place dots around round face. Rub and pat into skin to create a slightly tacky base to make your make up last that little longer. Leaving you with a fresh scent and cooling sensation thanks to the Aloe Vera. Result!
Lift and protect your eyes with Tru Face® IdealEyes, I apply 4-5 small dots around the outer are of the eyes. You can also apply on the brow bone.
Using 2-3 pumps of Advanced Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, I’m using the shade sand (depending on how much product you have left in bottle, mines nearly gone & I’m in need of a repurchase). Apply to brush, then buff evenly into skin, not forgetting you neck. Blend blend blend. I like to go over with the Nu Colour Foundation Brush using a stippling motion to give an even coverage.
Now it’s time to enhance and highlight your wonderful features. Using the Nu Colour Skin Beneficial Concealer I start by appling a triangle under each eye. Then down the centre of my nose, chin, forehead and upper lip. I then buff into skin using the Nu Colour Foundation Brush and blend blend blend. You can also take a very small brush to spot conceal any blemishes you may have then set with powder.
Time to prime those lashes, I use the Nutriol eyelash treatment before applying mascara. I also use this before bedtime to help my lashes grow fuller and thicker. I’m super impressed. I also use this to prime my brows and fix them in place. I mean who doesn’t love a multi purpose product?
Set the concealer and base with Finishing powder, using the Nu Colour powder brush lightly dust the powder all over the face and neck. Be sure to tap off any excess powder before applying to face.
Now for the killer brows. Start by lightly outlining brow palette darker shade with the angled brush then using light feathery strokes. Then using the lighter shade feather the front part of the brow to give a fuller natural look. Now to use the highlight under brow to lift and accentuate. Voila!
For your summer glow, swirl the Nu Colour Powder Brush swirl the brush into the bronzing pearls. The apply on and just below the cheek bones. Building up lightly, apply to the very top of forehead and jawline.
Using the angled Nu Colour Blush Brush dust onto apples of cheeks in an upwards motion for a sun-kissed look.
I start by spritzing the NaPCa Moisture Mist onto my Nu Colour Eyeshadow Brush, this helps give a more pigmented look. Then I swipe the brush into the the lightest shade in the lightshine coral leaf palette. spritz brush to a higher pigment. Apply this all over the lid as a base colour, then go with the coral on the outer crease. Then use the dark brown for a smokey look on the crease and blend blend blend with a fluffy brush.
Using the Lightshine Eyebrow shaping kit and using the highlight shade on inner corners of eyes, top of cheek bones, cupids bow and the tip of my nose. It’s quite a subtle highlight as I’ve made this look more natural and for general summer wear.
I’m absolutely obsessed with this product, I apply 2-3 coats of Curling Mascara to top and bottom lashes for a fuller look that holds. I find this mascara gives the perfect combination of natural full, dark lashes with just enough drama.
I always line my lips before applying lipstick as my lips are naturally uneven and one side has less definition and sometimes bleeds as bit. No idea why it does this but liner is always a winner. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Liner in Pillow talk, with is my ultimate neutral lip liner go-to.
Lastly to finish off the look I apply my favourite Nu Colour Lipstick in sunset. As I’m going for a more natural glowy look I dab to lipstick on straight from the bullet as I find it stays on longer but also doesn’t give that ‘over-done’ look
