5 Favourite Highlighters

I like to dabble in cream and powder products depending on what my skin is saying. Cream products can be quite tricky and sometimes best put on before applying foundation. However I do find they give more of a natural finish this way and that staying power. As my skin can become quite oily throughout the day, creams seem to work well and not separate or transfer so easily, depending on the product. On the other hand powders really do give more of a gleam on top of my foundation and much easier to apply especially in my morning routine.

Glow Topshop cream £9.00

When I first bought this, I really couldn’t get enough of it. I felt this product really sat well with my skin tone and the perfect shade for that natural highlight glow. I love using this on my brow bone and upper cheek bones. It does have a little bit of shimmer within the product and the highlight still shines through once its been set with powder.

LOreal Lumi Magique Primer £9.99

This is definitely one of my favourite bases to use in the winter. As my skin has been quite dull and lack lustre, this brings the life back into my face. I either use it all over my face or in the key areas I want to highlight or lighten. I especially like use a very tiny amount in the inner corner of my eyes. This is before applying any foundation or concealer. Which really does give an illuminating base.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow £49.00

I can’t stress enough how amazing this palette is. The highlight are absolutely perfect, it’s not too overpowering and when the highlight catches the light it really makes your skin and make-up on point. As well as the packaging adding that high end luxury feel, it really gives you that old Hollywood Art Deco feel. This is probably my favourite out of my collection as it has both highlight and bronzer and my make-up always looks just that bit better whenever I’m wearing it. Although it is a bit on the pricy it defiantly worth visiting their store in covent garden or a concession stand to swatch and then put it on your wish list for your birthday?!

Illamasqua Gleam Aurora £22.00

I actually received this as a gift from my sister for Christmas and she swears by it. I’m surprised that I haven’t heard many people rave about it. It’s such a beautiful shade, I find it applies best under my foundation as I think highlight creams on top of foundation seem to move any product underneath it. You only need the tiniest amount and it goes so far!

Revolution Vivid Highlighter £3.00

Although I find this product quite difficult sometimes to get out of the pan as it creates that hard film, which you can just scratch off or use a dense scratchy brush. It really is my go-to powder alternative when I don’t want to use my bronze and glow all the time. This is definitely has a slight pinky pearly tone that really suits my skin tone. Its also only £3.00, absolute bargain !

I’d love to know your absolute favourite highlights as I love to switch it up! So please leave a comment below. Thanks for reading!
