I absolutely love a deep cleanse to wash away the week! Making me fresh and ready for the week ahead. It always leaves my skin super soft and smooth drawing out all the dirt and impurities.
Recently I’ve had the pleasure of discovering some a-mazing products. Of course, I’m always slightly more sceptical at first with products that have rave reviews showering the internet… Then I took the plunge, invested myself and woah mumma its good. I mean really good, like why didn’t I know about this sooner?
Although recently my posts have been about makeup, I am a real skincare addict. My skin can be quite difficult at times from being a whole combination of things in different areas makes it tricky when I use products as they can really go one way or the other.
Let me first state that I’ve never ordered anything from cult beauty, I have a list of things that I’ve wanted for a while now but haven’t quite mustered up the money to go and splurge and then not buy anything else for the rest of the month. BUT I then saw this box advertised several times and got myself on the waiting list straight away. I was desperate for it, but once it was live to buy. I hesitated and had a couple of days to think it over. £84 is a lot of money for one purchase, especially if they’re not everything you’ve chosen. So naturally I made a list of all the products in the box I was going to buy anyway, how much they are full size and if it wasn’t full size how much the sample would technically value too.
I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while but the longer I’ve left it the more I have to say about this product. I hadn’t really planned on buying this but I saw it in store and figured it was the perfect time to pick it up as my sponges were in an awful state. As you can see below.
It had been a while since they’d had a clean and as you can see they were seriously filthy. The blender cleanser is like a round solid piece of soap. I found it lathers up the right amount as it doesn’t foam too much. Surprisingly I really enjoyed using this as I like a hard surface to rub the sponge all over to make sure the product is evenly distributed and so I haven’t missed a certain area. I definitely think this made cleaning my sponges sooo much easier.
So after I’d given all of them a good scrub, being careful not to rip the sponge! They’d dried a little bit and some of them still had pesky foundation spots still. I’m not sure if anyone else has this problem? But it’s really annoying and I’m thinking maybe I might need to get a stronger soap or maybe…wash my sponges more regularly before they stain.
One thing I did notice is whilst washing my pink beauty blender, was that the pink dye was coming out. I mean every time I’m washing it. Which is quite worrying actually as I’m putting that onto my skin… So I might have look into that one.
After using this for the first few times on my sponges, I thought it went pretty well and I loved how clean and bouncy they were after! I then decided to give it a try on my brushes and using my new sigma mat (you can check out the mat review here
) it did make it a slight bit easier using on my brushes. I thought everything went pretty well but once my brushes dried. The real techniques big contour brush felt very dry and bristly and its definitely not as soft. I’m hoping that I haven’t completely ruined my brush. So I wouldn’t recommend using soap on brushes, I would opt for something a little bit gentler next time. I’ve heard that using baby shampoo is quite good. So I’ll let you know how that pans out. I think I prefer a fluid for brushes as I feel it would be able to get right into the brush rather than just cleaning the tip.
I did enjoy using the blendercleanser for my sponges. It does a great job and I’m going to use it up until it runs out. However I might give using a different soap a try as its quite an expensive product, for such a small bar or soap but I really like the idea of it.
Have you tried the BlenderCleanser? What did you think of it?
Thanks for reading!
For the majority of this month, I’ve really felt the low point of my bank balance, for a number of reasons. I was pretty sure that I hadn’t really introduced anything new into my beauty routine or make-up bag. Then I had a look at what was new and what have been my absolute favourites this month. Turns out I have had a bit of spend up… oops! I think I seem to forget, as its usually not after payday and then the rest of the month I’m wondering why my funds are so low.
Bear with me as this is my first monthly favourites! Lets start with skincare.
I get so excited everytime a Glossybox arrives! It feels like a little treat to myself, I get so excited in the unveiling of the box too. Same as last month, I like to upload my review fairly late as you might be considering signing up to Glossybox or that you want to try one of the products that was in the box this month and I really like to try out the products and see what I reach for the most.
As a rather lazy individual, I am guilty of many things. One of those is not deep cleaning my brushes regularly. I mean I have a couple of the similar style brushes and move onto the clean and stare at the dirty ones piling up day after day. Basically I do not enjoy cleaning my brushes as it take foreverrrrr and I saw sigmas brush cleaning mat online, I held out for a good few months with not purchasing it. I saw the glove things and then real techniques have one or coming out with one. I thought I’ll get something else I can’t justify the money.
