The Cult Beauty Box by Anna & Lily
Let me first state that I’ve never ordered anything from cult beauty, I have a list of things that I’ve wanted for a while now but haven’t quite mustered up the money to go and splurge and then not buy anything else for the rest of the month. BUT I then saw this box advertised several times and got myself on the waiting list straight away. I was desperate for it, but once it was live to buy. I hesitated and had a couple of days to think it over. £84 is a lot of money for one purchase, especially if they’re not everything you’ve chosen. So naturally I made a list of all the products in the box I was going to buy anyway, how much they are full size and if it wasn’t full size how much the sample would technically value too.

    Actual price of box £85.00
Obviously this was enough to convince me as quite a few of them I wanted to try.
Super excited for this to arrive. Ordered it on the Sunday (bank holiday weekend) arrived on the Wednesday. Two working days ish? Amazing. Plus I had seen so many people on social media  saying how quickly it arrived which is incredible customer service!
The products I was most excited/convinced to buy the box for Oskia cleaning gel, jade roller, Luna sleeping night oil. Worked out that these three alone are worth £100 including the deluxe sample size of Luna sleeping night oil and I highly doubt I would every get to try this or be able to ever afford the full size. The full size is actually worth the box, so half the size is a bargin. Lets get down to each product.
     Luna sleeping night oil
Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil Deluxe sample size
I’ve seen this several times on you tubers channels especially annas and lilys of course, but I never actually realised or remember hearing that the oil is actually bluey green like the bottle!  super funky and made it a little bit more exciting using it. Of course, I’ve already used this for a little over a week. I’m not sure if this is making a difference but I do need the oil and in sinks in pretty quickly and also my skin has been pretty great lately and a couple of light scars have faded quicker so I’m thinking its from this oil?! If it is then, I’m probably going to have to invest in a full size once I run out of the sample size as it really is quite a revelation if this is the reason for my skin recovery.
Heres what it says on the Cult Beauty website
“Starring retinol and blue tansy – a powerfully skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory extract that reduces redness and helps to calm signs of skin stress – Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil corrects and anti-ages; tackling all-too-common issues such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea and acne, while counteracting the ravages wrought by oxidative stress. An incredible night treatment for all skin types – especially dry, dehydrated, confused and mature – think of this as a stint in skin-rehab; it works hard to reverse the day’s damage and neutralise free radicals, so you wake to a beautifully smooth, ‘plumped’ and luminous-looking complexion. Sunday Riley has harnessed her native, North American botanicals to create a range of potent anti-ageing products. Marrying traditional skin care ingredients with hi-tech processes, this incredible, bestselling range is beloved by top beauty bloggers, editors and celebrities – Gwyneth Paltrow, Helen Mirren and Victoria Beckham are just some of Sunday’s age-defying, A-list devotees.”
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel Full size
I never look at the actual size of things and the cleansing gel is actually really big and bulky. I mean it’s the actual size of the box! Which I was really surprised about as most products do not fit the whole box. I’ve been sooo close to buying this on a number of occasions but I end up opting out as I really do have a big hit and miss with cleansers but this was raved about so much that I really wanted to try it. So I super excited that this was in the box. Its a gel that you rub onto your dry face and then add water and turns into foam. I feels really calming on the skin and once washed off my skin feel incredibly clean and refreshed. The smell is really familiar and reminds me of holiday mosquito gel, unusual but I quite like it as its nostalgic.
Here’s what it says on the Cult Beauty website
“With a potent blend of high-tech natural ingredients including a broad range of vitamins and essential skin nutrients, Oskia’s Renaissance Cleansing Gel is the original (and best) gel cleanser of its ilk; totally unique, it helps to strengthen and revitalise skin whilst eliminating every last speck of residual everyday grime. Lactobacillus (Pumpkin Enzyme) purges pores and dissolves the bonds that bind dead cells to skin’s surface; Vitamin A Palmitate helps improve the appearance of sun damaged, dry and mature skin by gently resurfacing and promoting elasticity; Vitamins C and E are known for their restorative properties and work to fortify and protect against free radical and environmental attack; Starflower Oil (a potent source of Omega 6), Magnesium and Vitamins B2 and C promote firmness while Oskia’s signature MSM (the most bio-available form of Sulphur) detoxifies, soothes and reduces inflammation. SOLD.”
    Jade facial roller Full size
At first this product seems so unnecessary but after seeing it in Lisa Eldridge’s video and hearing that helps sinus issues and improves the elascaticiy of your skin, I was hooked. At first I thought thats too expensive, and then it really sat with me for a while and I thought I’m going to get something similar but cheaper. I did and it was pretty useless and too harsh as it wasn’t smooth. Naturally I started to seriously consider getting the jade roller but the smallest one as I didn’t want to fork out too much for it to be completely useless. Spoiler, it isn’t. I love it! especially as I’ve been having some sinus problems recently its been helping a lot. Also I know I heard people say it was cool as in temperature but didn’t realise how cold! I love it, so soothing!
Here’s the description on the Cult beauty website
“This facial roller is made of pure Jade, a cleansing stone used in Chinese medicine for centuries to aid the body’s filtration organs and lymph system to expel toxins. The original, medium sized roller is designed to use around the face and neck area to aid lymph drainage and blood flow, eliminating puffiness, toning facial muscles and plumping out wrinkles. You will also find that regular use minimises spots around the chin and jawline caused by toxin build-up.”
    Classic wet brush Full size
I wasn’t particularly fussed about the brush, at all really. I just thought it was another brush and probably a bit useless. I was pleasantly surprised, as the bristles are really soft and flexible and dare i say it I’ve started it use it more than my tangle teaser. Which is really saying something as my hair is super knotty when wet and the wet brush feels like its not damaging my hair at all.
Here’s the description on the Cult beauty website
“An innovation in hair care, The Wet Brush has totally transformed our locks (and lives)! Detangling in mere minutes, this (let’s be honest, fairly ordinary looking) brush is the secret to happy hair, healthy scalp, and no more mornings spent wrestling (crying) over that nape-of-the-neck dread that’s developed… Lightweight and easy to wield, Classic Wet Brush seamlessly separates all knots and tats without compromising precious strands. This is all due to the revolutionary ‘Intelliflex’ technology; the thin, strong yet super flexible bristles have brains – yielding or unbending as required – to glide through tangles with next-to-no tugging, tearing or tress distress. What’s more, the ball-tip bristles are perfect for gently stimulating circulation near the scalp, to better feed your follicles and encourage new growth.”
Becca backlight priming filter sample size
Becca backlight, I’m not going to lie I’ve been wanting to try this but I would have appreciated a bigger size, as the size is a bit of a cop out. I have a serious issue with tiny sample sizes, its a real pet peeve, It feels a bit like they don’t have confidence in their product enough for you to want to purchase it again or you can’t afford to give them out because you’re not making enough money. Rant over, it’s just not about that. I also knew all this before I bought the box. I’m not totally sold on this just yet as I don’t think it makes a huge difference but I’ll report back if anything changes.
Here’s the description on the Cult beauty website
“Creators of the finest, skin-perfecting formulas, BECCA’s gorgeous Backlight Priming Filter is the secret to a gorgeous glow. Synonymous with effortless enhancement, BECCA’s multi-award-winning range stars rich pigments, soft hues and weightless coverage to facilitate an enviable, airbrushed effect – so you look naturally luminous (and absolutely flawless). With emphasis placed firmly on creating the perfect canvas, BECCA’s primer, illuminators and foundations blur together seamlessly, to help you achieve the ultimate, naturally-faultless skin-finish. Think your skin, just better.”
Pixi hydrating milky mist Full size
I don’t think I showed any interest in this at all. I’m not one for sprays, I get a bit squinty and jumpy when I spray them on my face. Although I own a few, it’s never a product I always reach for. I do have a few pixi products and they are all really good. I just never quite ‘got’ this product and was well and truly secptical when I first received it. I sprayed it on my arm and it made it feel tighter. I was half expecting it to be a bit like a spray on body mist from soap and glory if anyone has tried it. It’s not at all. I could definetly feel something happening on my arm. Tightening , plumping? My skin always feels super dehydrated but oily and some dry patches. Having tested it a little more I actually have used it everyday since without fail. Its really addictive, I feel like it gives me that extra moisture boost I need without making my skin too wet. Its actually priced quite reasonable as I really enjoy overtime I use it, although that might be from having low expectations.
Here’s the description on the Cult beauty website
“A featherweight, skin-nourishing spritz, Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist is brimming with hyaluronic acid, to attract water and maintain moisture levels. The perfect way to boost dewiness without suffocating your complexion, just mist over clean skin pre-serum or day cream, to ‘plump’ up parched cells and diminish fine lines for a luminous, youthful appearance. Refreshing and revitalising, a blend of black oat, provitamin A and linoleic acid then works to reduce redness and sooth irritation, for skin that feels calm and contented.”
Stila stay all day liquid eyeliner Full size
Finally Stila, I don’t think I’ve ever tried any Stila products, I’ve had very near purchases but I’ve never actually jumped in. I do like a liquid eyeliner but it can be something quite tricky and something to not be rushed. This is super black and pigimented and I like that the packaging has a bit of a springy lid. I drew on my hand with it, once dry it didn’t smudge, excellent and doesn’t show any budging. Once I tried actually on my eye, I really liked it! It’s super pigmented and didn’t budge all day which was perfect!
Here’s the description on the Cult beauty website
A true classic and make-up bag must-have, this budge-proof jet black liner will instantly elongate and sexify your eyes (the Kate Moss effect is unfailingly purrrfect), while the waterproof formula stays put – whatever the not-so-Great British weather may throw at it. With an ultra-fine precision tip and fluid, snag-free formula, this glides on seamlessly (minimising the risk of make-up-plus-bus-ride fiascos) and can be used to draw anything from whisper-thin lash lines, to full-on feline flicks… all safe in the knowledge that it won’t wash off in a downpour.”
